That sentiment is on the heels of the fact that my very dear friend Phyllis pointed out to me several months ago that I have never liked Hillary Clinton! Geez, I thought I did. Once upon a time, I really did. But did I? Phyllis is right...I remember remarking that I appreciated the fact that she worked for the Children's Defense Fund; I agreed that it does take a village to raise a child. It ends there.
What is my beef with Hillary? It only developed with her first United States Senatorial bid (daggers to you, Charlie Rangel, et al for that!). I have no appreciation for her carpetbagging her way into the Congress. How did it happen? That darn Charlie Rangel! In 2000, Rep. Nita Lowey had already begun campaigning for the senate. Rumor has it that Charlie and them went to her and said that they (no, I don't know who "they" is) wanted that seat for Hillary, and that "they" would raise $1million for her to withdraw. The money was raised and Lowey no longer competed for the United States Senate. Now, in politics I do not subscribe to the theory or ideology that one should wait his turn to run for office. If you feel that you can do the job, go for it! But I was very unsettled because she just showed up. In the primary election, I voted for Charlie King, a guy from Harlem, USA. She prevailed in the primary, so when I showed to vote in the general election, I had a write in vote - you guessed it, Charlie King!
I broke this news to some of my feminist friends several months ago, adding that I relish the fact that I have never voted for Hilllary, realized that I don't like her, and will NEVER vote for her in the future.
When I heard that Hillary remarked that Barack Obama "leapfrogged" his way into the presidential race, I was pretty ticked off. How dare she? I have plenty Moore to say on the subject, but I will blog about that later. I want to talk about her coded speech. While I don't remember the assasination of the Kennedy brothers, I have friends with quite vivid memories. They are thoroughly outraged that Hillary would reference Robert Kennedy's assasination in June 1968 while explaining why she maintains an active campaign for the democratic nomination for President.
Too many of the people with whom I have spoken about Barack Obama's candidacy have expressed fear for his life because he has decided to run for President. Translation: they fear assassination. Was Hillary using code to suggest that someone, maybe one of her hardworking, white supporters do harm to Senator Obama? I am not sure. But what I am sure of is this sentiment:
Dear Hillary,
Go to hell! Or back to the Senate, or Chappaqua, or your birth state of Illinois, your adopted state of Arkansas, your childhood summer home that is Scranton, Pennsylvania, or your favorite spot Washington, D.C.. I don't give a damn where you go, I just want to look up and not see you in my political world. Looks like I am going to have to gather a group of New Yorkers - hard working, true blue New Yorkers to figure out who will be your replacement in the Senate for you do not represent me and mine at all!
No love for Hillary here. I am for

Sincerely,
Robbin
